Paul J. Barkley, 25, Route 1, Sioux City, died Saturday, December 24, 1988 at his residence.  (He took his own life on Christmas Eve.)

Mr. Barkley was born May 27, 1963, in Sioux City and graduated from North High School in 1981.  He was employed by TBJ Construction Company as an equipment operator and also farmed with his father.

He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his parents, James and Carole Barkley, Sioux City, two sisters, Bonnie and Ann Barkley, Sioux City; five brothers, David, Ed, Larry and Steve, all of Sioux City and Andy of Fremont, Nebraska; paternal grandmother, Rose Barkley of Sioux City; three nieces and three nephews.
